Marfield's has been serving Leavenworth since 2001. It's roots began back in 1889. The building at 312 N 2nd St originally served as a carriage house for the Ward Mansion. A portion of the building was torn down and in 1910 the building standing today was converted to a neighborhood tavern. When Esplanade Tavern opend it's "doors" it was necessary to provide two separate entrances, one for the non drinking patrons and one for the imbibers.

Righard and Margaret Dubac took over in 1940 and operated a successful, well known, family business until 1981. The Dubac's influence can be felt here today. The chef is still using their house dressing, and the customers continue coming back for it.

When Dave Spangler took over as a proprietor in 2001 he completely remodeled and added special touches everywhere. The handcrafted bar, copper table tops, and unique wall decor has enticed a new generation to eat drink and be merry within these walls.

The original Marfield's menu consisted mostly of barbeque and smoked meats. Slowly, Irish Pub Grub found it's way on the menu along with the fun and lively atmosphere that anything Irish brings with it.

The friends, characters, and customers of Marfield's have shaped the carriage house of yesteryear to the fun friendly atmosphere that you find here today. Of course the beer has helped too! With great food comes great beer! Ask your server for this season's Special Ale!
