Established in 1903 - Our Story
Marfield's roots began back in 1889. the building at 312 n 2nd Street originally served as a carriage house for the Ward Mansion. A portion of the building was torn down and in 1903 the building standing today was converted into a neighborhood tavern. When Esplanade Tavern opened its "doors" it was necessary to provide two separate entrances, one for the non-drinking patrons and one for the imbibers.
Love this place, the staff get to know the needs of their regulars, the beer selection is constantly revolving, great food, and a nice fire place out back.
Excellent neighborhood pub! Spent many an afternoon/night in Mayfield's when I lived just up the street during the "best year of my life". When I planned my day trip to Fort Leavenworth, I knew I had to drop in and spend some time in Mayfield's. It has gone through several incarnations, but it pretty much looks the same as it did 10 years ago- Irish pub feel with lots of locally made wood furniture. Was meeting a buddy for dinner, so just ordered a beer and wings. A tasty combination as always. I particularly enjoy their smoked prime rib sandwich, but it is now featured only on certain days. It is a little gem of a pub and someplace to repeat whenever I'm in the Leavenworth area. Definitely recommend!
